Dr. Bella Nguyen was born and raised in Vietnam, but came to the United States when she was 17. She attended University of Connecticut for her undergraduate education and University of California, San Francisco for her dental schooling. She was drawn to dentistry because of her experience growing up in a developing country with socioeconomic disparities in the health care field. In Vietnam, access to quality health care is a privilege that middle and lower-class families are unable to attain. Dr. Nguyen has recognized the need for adequate education in dental health and has an ambition towards making dental care a human right, not a privilege. Dr. Nguyen most enjoys her ability to make a difference in someone’s oral health. She wants to always be a patient advocate and build lasting and memorable relationships with her patients.
